many things to discuss!

I was driving back from bringing claire to duquesne tonight when a few things happened. a car was driving at me going the wrong way on fifth ave. I got out of his way first, and then gave him the standard alert for "you're driving down a one way street the wrong way" - *honk honk honk honk honk honk honk honk*. he got the clue about 4 blocks down. nice job buddy.

then there was a car pulled over in the bus lane with 2 cop cars, complete with lights, and two black guys handcuffed sitting on the sidewalk. they were going through the car with white gloves on and such. guys, if you have a car with drugs in it, don't drive the wrong way down the street in the bus lane. someone will notice.

and now to things of much importance.

lately i've been having some ideas/"things i want to do in the future" pop into my head. shit, what were they? hold on. i have a horrible memory. i can't even remember to take my memory booster medicine. oh ok, there we go. the first thing i want to do, but probably can't, is make a video of pittsburgh. like pittsburgh scenery, pittsburgh people, pittsburgh business/education - stuff like that. i have a good song for the background music - in fact, the whole thing kinda looks like a backwards music video in my head - putting the music to the scenery. this is the song (i won't post the whole thing cause pitt's server gives me like 7k of room)

The beginning would start out with sunrises coming over buildings in the pgh area - the cathedral, the ppg building (big glass castle looking like thing) - heinz field and such. when the drums kick in, i'd speed it up a little bit, kinda making it feel like you're waking up and getting on your feet. Then the next kind of sound that sounds a bit like a higher pitched alarm i would move from building to building fast, then slowly pan around the building, switching shots with a blur motion between each measure. i would show people walking - fast, then slow, then fast, then slow. i dunno - a showcase of the area. i think that would be fun. i think that would take a lot of time, and a G5. eric, when you getting your tower?

The next two things i want to do are arrange songs for the pendulums. i want to arrange 2 songs, but none of them know i want to do these songs. First, is the friends themesong by the rembrandts. which would be fun. You've all heard that song. no need to fill you in on what that sounds like. only here's the difference. i don't want to use syllables. i think that it would be freaking great to do just kind of sung. it would probably sound more like a "prim and proper" choral group like the women's chorus, but since it's the friends themesong, i figured that it would be fun to do. kind of like "enormous penis" by da vinci's notebook. there's no syllables there, but it's fun, and it doesn't need them. so maybe i can pull that one off.

the other song i wanna do is called "salty dog" by flogging molly. this one i will put up there in it's entirety - riaa - fuck you.

anyway - it's just a funny ass song. and i think it would be hilarious to have some guy (or gal) standing up there singing the solo like some sailor. we need a bit of comedy in the pends, and i think we could do that with this little diddy. here are the lyrics so you can follow along (it's not long, just listen to it)

I'll wait for you till I turn blue
There's nothin' more a man can do
Don't get your bollocks in a twist
Settle down, don't take a fit
Ya drank with demons straight form Hell
They almost nearly won as well
Ya wiped the floor with victory
Then puked until you fell asleep

Blackened was the banshee's wail
These boot will never fill her jail
So you crawled into an empty boat
For the Gulf of Mexico
Till Cortez came an' when so did you
From the ashes charred and blue
Smellin' like a Salty Dog
Back from Hell where you belong

Anarchy, the scourge of every sea
The Antichrist aboard a rig
With us your cutthroat thieves
The ship went down we all near drowned
Ya stood there on the deck
Till the Spanish came and flogged yer arse
And dragged you from the wreck

They threw a rope around yer neck
To watch you dance the jig of death
Then left ya for the starvin' crows
Hoverin' like hungry whores
One flew down plucked out yer eye
The other he had in his sights
Ya snarled at him, said leave me be
I need the bugger so I can see
Well that's all for the evening. If i haven't accomplished at least one of these things in the near future, you need to kick my ass. oh, that is of course after i finish building my pictureframe PC - i'm taking an old laptop and putting it inside a pictureframe so that the picture changes - here's what one of these looks like. but i broke part of it already, so i ordered another one on ebay. i love you ebay.

wow, well anyway - looks like this post was brought to by..... the hyperlink! thanks tim berners-lee
